How to Find the Work You Love

"We have been told that the rat race is the road to success. Yet many today have an idea of success different from those of previous generations. For these people, success is not defined exclusively in economic terms but includes the opportunity to express their innate talents and abilities, to be creatively engaged (not simply to show up), to feel as though they are making a meaningful difference, and to integrate their spiritual values with the everyday business of working and making a living. Moreover, today there is a growing realization that an unhappy experience at work has profound psychological and social costs...."

Amy Millan

It's New Music Friday!

Checkout Amy's latest album - "Masters of the Burial"

This record is the dark of the night. It's the sound of someone climbing into bed. The soundtrack of the time in between when the candle burns out and your dreams begin. The time of night when all we have tried to bury comes back to us masked in midnight mind stories. Light the fire, pour up one more, draw the curtains and tuck in.

Improved Hamster Training Methods

My first pet when I was a kid was a golden hamster named Chad. He was cute and all, but I could never get him to do tricks or even respond to his own name.

Fast forward 40 years and now they have hamsters wearing clothes, walking upright, playing drums and driving cars. Amazing!!!

New Music Friday

Check out Umphrey's McGee:

Founded in 1997 in the shadows of the Golden Dome of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, Umphrey's McGee soon made Chicago home base, and set their sights on becoming one of the premier live acts in today's touring circuit. Over the course of the last ten years, the band has performed at festivals such as Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza, and continues to sell out shows in the nation's premier venues coast to coast. They have toured Europe multiple times and performed at Japan's Fuji Rock Festival in 2006. As their sound evolves with every passing show, the live concerts sold on their expansive music archive site UMLive.net continue to be in high demand by their hungry fan base. The second decade of Umphrey's McGee is fueled with Mantis in the tank, and the band shows no signs of letting up.
